Welcome to DWC

We are excited to have your family in our club.

Please take a few minutes to review how our program works, how we communicate and what you can expect at your wrestler's first tournament.

Three development levels

A place to begin.
A path to advance.

Coaches place athletes where they can develop safely, confidently and successfully.

Advanced · Coach selection

Driller Elite

Our advanced traveling team attends local, state and national tournaments. Selection requires head-coach approval; families of selected wrestlers are contacted by the coaching staff.

Beginner through intermediate · Competitive

Roughnecks

For athletes ages 7 through middle school. Wrestlers build strong fundamentals, learn higher-level concepts and compete at local tournaments, with additional SCWAY and USA Wrestling opportunities.

Beginner · Non-competitive

Lil Bits

For ages 5–7, this group provides a positive introduction to movement, listening and wrestling fundamentals. Ready 6- and 7-year-olds may be placed in Roughnecks at coach discretion; an additional fee may apply.

Primary family communication

Everything important goes through Band.

Parents and guardians are added to the Driller Wrestling Club Band group using the mobile numbers supplied during registration. The Band app is available for iPhone and Android. Practice schedules, event and tournament changes, announcements and family questions are handled there.

First-tournament checklist

Arrive prepared.

  1. Get the correct membership card.A current USA Wrestling card is required for local USA Wrestling events. It is valid for one season. Keep a digital copy and several printed copies available.
  2. Know the division and weight class.Confirm your wrestler's correct age division and weight class before submitting tournament registration.
  3. Register under Driller Wrestling Club.Parents register their own wrestler for most tournaments through Trackwrestling. Always verify the club name before submitting.
  4. Arrive for team warmups.Warmups take place in the tournament wrestling area and generally begin one hour before the posted start time.
  5. Prepare for a long day.Tournaments can last through the afternoon. Bring stadium seats or cushions, blankets, healthy snacks and plenty of water.
  6. Track brackets and mat assignments.Bookmark Trackwrestling on your phone or tablet. Verify your child's division and weight, then follow opponents, results and mat assignments throughout the day.
  7. Check before leaving. Most tournaments use double-elimination formats, but some events provide additional matches. Always confirm with a DWC coach that your wrestler is finished.
  8. Let the coaches coach.Parents generally remain off the competition floor. General-admission, coach-floor and registration fees are set by each tournament organizer—not by DWC. Wrestler admission is normally covered by the wrestler's paid entry fee.
  9. Find the DWC coaches.Parents are responsible for getting their wrestler to the floor and locating a DWC coach. Coaches share their general warmup location through Band and will explain when the wrestler should report to the assigned mat.
  10. Pack the right gear.A singlet and wrestling shoes are best. Local events may allow a T-shirt and shorts. Each paid DWC membership includes a club shirt and shorts; additional singlets and apparel are available in the Team Store.
